Greetings Cherished Friends of Red Bench,

As we sit between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we find ourselves lingering with gratitude on all that has happened since opening Red Bench. God has shown up in so many different ways these last seven years! It has been a honor to offer the community a beautiful setting, along with a variety of opportunities, to step away from the busyness of life right into solitude.

Throughout this journey we saw God working in and through so many people. Red Bench fostered countless stories of healing, of restoration of weary souls, of new discoveries of what it means to abide with Jesus, and of gratitude for the time of extended silence and solitude. We hold all these stories near and dear to our hearts.

Our hearts overflow with joy that God has been able to cultivate our dream to partner with his kingdom work. We would be remiss if we didn’t say that these last seven years have changed us. They have taught us humility. They have taught us hospitality. They will continue to teach us as we reflect on them. Every interaction during this time has brought us closer to God.

It is from a deep sense of gratitude that we announce, after seven years of Red Bench, we will be closing our doors in January 2025. We hope that even though Red Bench is ending, that you will continue to build benches in your own life to rest and reflect with God.
